Salon software costs compared: 3, 6 and 10 chairs

Guide, updated 23 October 2026 · By the Revyfy team

A 3-chair salon pays Revyfy £39.99 a month, and about £65 to £168 a month on Fresha, Vagaro, Booksy, Slick or Timely, while Phorest will not say. At 10 chairs it is £39.99 against about £280 to £372 on Fresha, Vagaro or Booksy. Per-head pricing, VAT and new-client fees all grow as a salon adds chairs and clients, while Revyfy's price does not, because it is one flat figure with unlimited staff.

Why does the gap widen as a salon grows?

The gap widens because every competitor in the matrix charges for something that grows with the salon, and Revyfy charges for nothing that grows. Fresha adds £9.95 for each team member. Vagaro adds a calendar for each chair and a 20% fee on new marketplace clients. Booksy adds £5 plus VAT per user and a 30% Boost fee. Slick adds £14 to £21 plus VAT per column. Timely adds to the bill as bookings rise. Phorest keeps its number behind a sales call. Hire a fourth stylist and four of those bills go up the same day. Revyfy stays at £39.99.

What does Fresha cost at 3, 6 and 10 chairs?

Fresha costs a 3-chair salon about £102 a month, about £168 at 6 chairs and about £280 at 10 chairs, against £39.99 on Revyfy at every size. The bill is £9.95 per team member a month plus a one-time 20% fee, minimum £4, on each new marketplace client's first booking. At 3 chairs that is 3 x £9.95 = £29.85 plus 8 new clients x £9 = £72. At 10 chairs it is £99.50 plus 20 x £9 = £180. Every stylist you hire adds £9.95 and every busy month adds fees. Revyfy adds neither. Read the Fresha alternative page, or Fresha fees explained for the full working.

What does Vagaro cost at 3, 6 and 10 chairs?

Vagaro costs a 3-chair salon about £137 a month, about £203 at 6 chairs and about £285 at 10 chairs, against £39.99 on Revyfy at every size. Calendars are £40 for 3, £70 for 6 and £80 for 7 or more. Forms are £10 and text marketing is £15 on top, and Vagaro takes a 20% fee on new marketplace clients. At 3 chairs that is £40 + £10 + £15 + £72 = £137. Revyfy has consent forms and marketing campaigns in the one price, and takes no fee on any client. Read the Vagaro alternative page, or Vagaro pricing in the UK for the full working.

What does Booksy cost at 3, 6 and 10 chairs?

Booksy costs a 3-chair salon about £168 a month, about £240 at 6 chairs and about £372 at 10 chairs, against £39.99 on Revyfy at every size. The plan is £40 plus £5 per extra user, plus VAT, which comes to £60, £78 and £102 a month with VAT at 3, 6 and 10 chairs. Boost then takes 30% of a new client's first visit, which is £13.50 on a £45 visit. Eight Boost clients at 3 chairs add £108 to the £60. Revyfy adds no VAT and takes no commission, so the number on the invoice is the number on this page. Read the Booksy alternative page, or Booksy pricing in the UK for the full working.

What does Slick cost at 3, 6 and 10 chairs?

Slick costs a 3-chair salon £60 to £94.80 a month with VAT, £110.40 to £170.40 at 6 chairs and £177.60 to £300 at 10 chairs, against £39.99 on Revyfy at every size. Essential is £22 plus £14 per extra column, Advanced is £37 plus £21 per extra column and Supercharged is £250, all plus VAT. Each stylist is another column, so each hire is another £14 to £21 plus VAT. Revyfy has no columns to count, because staff are unlimited. Read the Slick alternative page, or Slick pricing in the UK for the full working.

What does Timely cost at 3, 6 and 10 chairs?

Timely costs a 3-chair salon about £65 a month with a waitlist, forms, cancellation fees and staff pricing, and that figure rises, against £39.99 on Revyfy at every size. Timely charges per week and the price follows the number of bookings you take. Team members are unlimited, so staff count does not move the bill, but bookings do. Card fees are 1.59% + 5p in the salon and 1.85% + 30p online, on every payment. Read the Timely alternative page, or Timely pricing in the UK for the full working.

What does Phorest cost at 3, 6 and 10 chairs?

Phorest does not publish a price, so a 3-chair salon cannot see what it will pay until after a sales call, while Revyfy shows £39.99 on the page. The quote comes with a contract. Texts are 7p to 9.5p each after 500. That is why the matrix says Price on request at every size: there is no figure to put in it. Revyfy gives you the number first, with no contract and a 14-day free trial. Read the Phorest alternative page, or Phorest pricing in the UK for what is public.

What a flat price means at 10 chairs

At 10 chairs a flat £39.99 saves a salon between about £300 and about £3,984 a year against the competitors in the matrix. Against Fresha at about £280 a month that is about £2,880 a year. Against Vagaro at about £285 it is about £2,940. Against Booksy at about £372 it is about £3,984. Against Slick at £177.60 to £300 it is £1,651 to £3,120. Against Timely it is about £300 plus whatever the bookings add. Phorest has no figure to subtract.

The flat-price alternative: Revyfy

Revyfy is £39.99 a month and includes online booking on your own branded page, the diary, POS, client records, reminders, email and SMS marketing campaigns and consent forms. Staff are unlimited, commission is zero on every booking and no VAT is added. The Revy AI assistant is an optional add-on at £24.99 a month, with the first 2 months free. During the 14-day free trial, with no card, the Revyfy team moves your data across for free. The price is the same at 3 chairs, 6 chairs and 10 chairs. See Revyfy pricing.

Salon software costs FAQ

Revyfy is the cheapest for a 3-chair salon at £39.99 a month flat, against about £65 to about £168 a month on Fresha, Vagaro, Booksy, Slick or Timely. Fresha is about £102, Vagaro about £137, Booksy about £168, Slick £60 to £94.80 and Timely about £65 and rising. Phorest publishes no price at all.

The totals include VAT wherever the provider charges it, and Revyfy adds none. Booksy and Slick quote their plans plus VAT, so their figures here have the VAT added. Revyfy's £39.99 is the whole bill, with no VAT added at any salon size.

Phorest publishes no price, so the matrix says Price on request. A salon gets a number only after a sales call, and the quote comes with a contract. Texts are 7p to 9.5p each after 500. Revyfy shows £39.99 on the page before you speak to anyone.

No. Revyfy is £39.99 a month with unlimited staff, so a 3-chair, 6-chair or 10-chair salon pays the same. Hiring a stylist, taking on a chair renter or adding a junior never changes the bill, and there is no commission on any booking.

The matrix assumes 8 new marketplace clients a month at 3 chairs, 12 at 6 chairs and 20 at 10 chairs, each on a £45 first visit. Fresha and Vagaro take 20% of that, which is £9 a client. Booksy's Boost fee is 30%, which is £13.50 a client. Revyfy takes nothing from any booking.

On a quiet week Timely's starting figures are lower, but they rise with every booking and the card fees apply to every payment, while Revyfy is £39.99 in the busiest week. The salon that grows pays less on Revyfy, because its price is the same at 3, 6 and 10 chairs.

On every per-head or per-column model the bill keeps rising with each chair. Revyfy stays at £39.99 a month.
