Salon software with no commission: what it means and what it costs

Last updated: 16 August 2026 · By the Revyfy team

"No commission" salon software takes no percentage of any booking, new or returning, whoever found the salon. Revyfy is UK salon software at one flat £39.99 a month, with unlimited staff and zero commission. Some marketplace platforms instead charge a per-person subscription plus a percentage of new-client bookings.

Who is Revyfy?

Revyfy is UK salon software: online booking on your own branded page, the diary, POS, client records, reminders, email and SMS marketing and consent forms, plus the Revy AI assistant. One flat price of £39.99 a month, unlimited staff, zero commission on any booking. Our team moves your data over from your old system during the 14-day free trial, no card needed.

What no commission actually means

No commission means the software never takes a percentage of a booking, whoever the client is and however they found the salon. Marketplace platforms work differently: Fresha, for example, takes a one-time 20% fee, minimum £4, from a new client's first booking when that client found the business through the Fresha marketplace, as published at fresha.com/pricing, checked 16 August 2026. That is commission: a percentage taken from a booking because of where the client came from. On Revyfy, no percentage is ever taken, from any booking, on any channel.

The three ways salon software charges you

Salon software generally charges one of three ways: a percentage taken from qualifying bookings, a subscription that rises with every team member, or one flat monthly price that does not move.

ModelHow you payWhat a 3-chair salon pays
Commission on bookingsA percentage taken from qualifying bookingsFresha: 20% of a new marketplace client's first booking, min £4 (dated example: 8 new clients/month at £45 average = £72)
Per team memberA subscription fee for every staff member addedFresha: £9.95 per team member/month (dated example: 3 staff = £29.85)
Flat feeOne monthly price, whatever the team size or booking volumeRevyfy: £39.99/month, unlimited staff, zero commission

The first two models both grow with the business, just on different variables: bookings for a commission model, headcount for a per-person model. Some platforms combine the two, charging a per-person subscription and a commission on new bookings at the same time. A flat fee is the only model of the three that does not move as a salon grows.

Why commission costs more as you grow

The more new clients a salon brings in through a marketplace, the more a commission model costs, because every qualifying booking adds another fee on top. A flat price does not move, however many clients book.

At an average booking value of £45, a 20% marketplace fee works out at £9 per qualifying booking. Four new marketplace clients a month cost £36 in fees. Eight cost £72. Twelve cost £108. All of that is on top of whatever subscription is already being paid, whether that is a flat fee or a per-team-member charge.

On a flat price, none of those figures exist. Whether a salon takes on four new clients a month or forty, the total stays £39.99. Growth is the point at which a commission model and a flat price pull furthest apart.

Card processing is not commission

Card processing is a separate charge that almost every platform applies when it takes a card payment on a salon's behalf. It is not the same thing as commission.

Any platform that processes card payments, Revyfy included, charges something to cover the card networks and banks involved. That charge applies to the value of the card transaction, whoever the client is. Commission works differently: it is a fee taken because of how or when a client was found, on top of whatever payment method they use. Revyfy's card processing is a standard, separate charge on top of the flat monthly price. The question that matters is not whether a card payment is ever charged for, because the answer to that is always yes, somewhere. It is whether anything is taken from the booking itself because of where the client came from. On Revyfy, nothing is.

Your own booking page, not a listing

A branded booking page at your own link is not the same as a listing on a marketplace, where a searcher also sees other businesses on the same screen.

Revyfy gives every salon its own booking page at its own link: the one you share on Instagram, put in a text message, or add to your Google Business Profile. No other businesses appear on that screen. The audience who lands on it is yours, not shared with anyone competing for the same search. That is a different relationship to a marketplace listing, where a business sits alongside others in the same trade and a fee is charged when the marketplace itself supplies the client.
