Leaving Booksy: what UK salons do next
Leaving Booksy usually starts with one of three things: the per-user charge as the team grows, a Boost fee on a client the salon thought was its own, or wanting a booking page at your own link instead of a marketplace profile. Here is what to check, what moves with you, and how the switch to Revyfy's flat £39.99 is done for you during the trial.
At a glance
- Booksy pricing: £40 a month plus VAT, plus £5 a month plus VAT per additional team member (checked 26 September 2026).
- Boost fee: one-time 30% of a Boost client's first visit, minimum £5, only when Boost is turned on; marketplace bookings without Boost are free.
- Extras: card processing from 0.99% + 20p + VAT; SMS marketing beyond 500 a month at 5p each; confirmations and reminders free.
- Revyfy: £39.99 a month, no VAT added, unlimited staff, zero commission, your own booking page.
- Switching: the Revyfy team moves staff, clients, notes, services, future appointments, gift cards and stock during the 14-day trial.
Who is Revyfy?
Revyfy is UK salon software: online booking on your own branded page, the diary, POS, client records, reminders, email and SMS marketing and consent forms, plus the Revy AI assistant. One flat price of £39.99 a month, no VAT added, unlimited staff, zero commission on any booking. Our team moves your data over from your old system during the 14-day free trial, no card needed.
Why do salons leave Booksy?
Salons leave Booksy because the bill grows with the size of the team. Booksy's one plan is £40 a month, with VAT added to the final price, plus £5 a month plus VAT for each additional team member. By a sixth person the subscription reaches £65 plus VAT. On top of that, turning on Boost, Booksy's paid visibility feature, adds a one-time 30% fee (minimum £5) on a Boost client's first visit.
SMS marketing beyond 500 messages a month costs 5p each, and card processing runs from 0.99% + 20p plus VAT per transaction upwards. And a Booksy Marketplace profile sits on the same screen as other businesses, an audience the platform owns rather than the salon, with clients booking through the Booksy for Customers app.
Put together, that is a bill that climbs every time a team member joins, plus a fee that can land on a new client's first visit, rather than a fixed figure a salon can plan a budget around.
What happens to my Booksy reviews?
Reviews on your Booksy profile stay there: they belong to that marketplace and do not move with you. Once you switch, the practical step is to ask happy clients to leave a review where new clients look for you, on Google, and to send them your new Revyfy booking link in the same message, so the next visit is booked on your own page.
How Booksy's price compares to Revyfy's
At one person, Booksy's £48 with VAT is close to Revyfy's £39.99. The gap opens as a team grows: by six people, Booksy's subscription with VAT is £78 a month, before any Boost fees.
| Team size | Booksy (with VAT, before Boost) | Revyfy |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | £48 | £39.99 |
| 3 (owner + 2 extra users) | £60 | £39.99 |
| 6 (owner + 5 extra users) | £78 | £39.99 |
None of these figures include Boost's one-time 30% fee, which applies on top for each Boost client's first visit when Boost is turned on, or SMS charges beyond the 500 free messages a month. Revyfy stays at £39.99 in every row, whatever the team size and whatever happens with new clients that month.
Can I keep taking bookings while I switch?
Yes, you can keep taking bookings on Booksy while you switch. You can run Booksy and Revyfy side by side for as long as you need, checking that everything looks right before committing to anything. Booksy keeps running until you choose to go live on Revyfy, so there is no gap where the salon is without a working system. Booksy's own trial is 7 days, no card, no commitment, and can be cancelled anytime; Revyfy's trial is 14 days, also no card.
Will my clients notice?
Very little changes for your clients: they book on your own branded page, at your own link, instead of inside the Booksy Marketplace or through the Booksy for Customers app. Reminders continue as before, and there is nothing for a client to install. Your existing clients are yours: their history, notes and future appointments move with you, and they carry on booking with your salon the same as always.
What does the switch cost?
Switching to Revyfy costs nothing extra: the move is done for you during the 14-day free trial, no card needed, at no extra cost. The Revyfy team moves your staff, clients, notes, services, future appointments, gift cards and stock across, so you are not starting from a blank system on day one.
| Booksy | Revyfy | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | £40 plus VAT, plus £5 plus VAT per extra user | £39.99 flat, no VAT added |
| New-client fee | 30% one-time, Boost client's first visit, when Boost is on | None |
| Staff limit | Priced per additional user | Unlimited |
What if I change my mind?
There is no contract on Revyfy, so you can cancel any time, and your data can be exported if you decide to go elsewhere. Most salons run both systems during the trial and settle on Revyfy once the diary and the client list match.
