Is Fresha still free?
No. Since 1 November 2025, every UK Fresha business pays a subscription: £14.95 solo or £9.95 per team member, plus a one-time 20% fee (minimum £4) on each new marketplace client's first booking, plus card processing. Revyfy is one flat £39.99 a month, with unlimited staff and no commission.
Who is Revyfy?
Revyfy is UK salon software: online booking on your own branded page, the diary, POS, client records, reminders, email and SMS marketing and consent forms, plus the Revy AI assistant. One flat price of £39.99 a month, unlimited staff, zero commission on any booking. Our team moves your data over from your old system during the 14-day free trial, no card needed.
The short answer
No, not any more. Fresha's free plan ended in the UK on 1 November 2025. Every business now pays a monthly subscription, on top of the new-client marketplace fee and card processing that were already in place before that date.
The subscription is not optional and it is not a one-off. It renews every month, for as long as the business keeps using Fresha, regardless of how many bookings come through in that period. It sits alongside the fees that already existed, rather than replacing any of them.
Revyfy takes a different approach: one flat £39.99 a month, whatever the team size, with no per-head charge and no percentage taken from any booking.
What changed on 1 November 2025
On 1 November 2025, Fresha introduced the Independent and Team subscription plans across the UK and ended its free software tier.
Fresha built its reputation on free software; that ended on 1 November 2025 in the UK. The new-client marketplace fee and card processing continued alongside the new subscription, unchanged. So a business that paid nothing for the software itself before that date now has a fixed monthly cost added on top of the charges it already had.
What Fresha costs now
There are two subscription plans, and both are billed on top of the new-client marketplace fee and card processing.
| Plan | Price | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Independent | £14.95/month | 20% new-client fee (min £4) + card processing |
| Team | £9.95 per team member/month | 20% new-client fee (min £4) + card processing |
The Independent plan is flat and covers one user. The Team plan scales with headcount, so the subscription rises in a straight line as staff are added, before a single new-client fee or card payment is counted. A 2-person team pays £19.90 a month, a 4-person team pays £39.80, and a 6-person team pays £59.70, all before any marketplace fees or card processing are added.
Do you have to pay for Fresha?
Yes. The 7-day trial listed at fresha.com/pricing is the only period without a subscription. After that, every business sits on the Independent or Team plan.
There is no way to keep using Fresha past the trial without moving onto one of the two paid plans, and the marketplace fee and card processing apply on any bookings that qualify. The subscription is charged regardless of how quiet or busy a month is, in the same way as rent for a chair or a room.
Is there a free version of Fresha?
No. There is no free tier. Fresha offers a 7-day trial, and after that the Independent or Team subscription applies, alongside the new-client marketplace fee and card processing.
This is a change from how Fresha was widely known before 1 November 2025, when the software itself carried no charge. That period is over for UK businesses.
What free salon software really costs
Any system priced at nothing has to charge somewhere. It is usually per team member, or a percentage of bookings, or both.
Fresha's dated figures show the maths. A sole trader with 4 new marketplace clients in a month, at an average booking value of £45, pays the £14.95 Independent subscription plus 4 × £9 in new-client fees (20% of £45), which comes to £36. Subscription and fees together total £50.95 for the month, before any card processing is added.
The lesson generalises beyond Fresha: a headline of "free" only ever describes one part of the bill. The rest shows up as a per-head charge, a booking fee, or both, once you start actually using the software. The more staff a business adds, or the more new clients it takes on in a month, the larger that part of the bill becomes, even though the software itself was advertised as free.
The flat-price alternative: Revyfy
Revyfy is £39.99 a month, flat, for unlimited staff and zero commission on any booking. The price includes online booking on your own branded page, the diary, POS, client records with notes and consent forms, reminders, email and SMS marketing, custom forms, and rooms and equipment booking. Revy AI, the assistant that answers questions about the business and helps manage clients, is available as an add-on at £24.99 a month.
There is no per-head charge to track as staff join, and no percentage taken from any booking, whether the client is new or has been coming for years. During your 14-day free trial, no card needed, the Revyfy team moves your data over from your old system: staff, clients, notes, services, future appointments, gift cards and stock all come across, so you are not starting from a blank system.
Frequently asked questions
No. Since 1 November 2025, hairdressers on Fresha pay a monthly subscription, £14.95 as a sole trader or £9.95 per team member, plus a one-time 20% fee, minimum £4, on each new marketplace client's first booking, plus card processing.
No. The same UK pricing applies across every trade on Fresha. A nail tech or beauty salon pays £14.95 a month solo or £9.95 per team member, plus the 20% new-client marketplace fee and card processing. There is no free tier for any category of business.
Yes. Since 1 November 2025, every UK business on Fresha pays a monthly subscription: £14.95 for a sole trader on the Independent plan, or £9.95 per team member on the Team plan. The only period without a subscription is the 7-day trial listed at fresha.com/pricing.
It depends on team size. A sole trader pays £14.95 a month on the Independent plan. A business with staff pays £9.95 per bookable team member on the Team plan, so 3 staff costs £29.85 a month before any new-client fees or card processing.
There is no free tier at Revyfy either. Revyfy runs a 14-day trial with no card required, then costs one flat £39.99 a month, unlimited staff, zero commission. Free salon software is never really free: the cost sits in per-head charges, booking fees, or both.
Because the free plan ended in the UK on 1 November 2025. Every business that previously used Fresha without a subscription is now on the Independent or Team plan, on top of the new-client marketplace fee and card processing that already applied.
